Czech graphic artist and painter, one of the leading representatives of Art Nouveau and fin de siècle. Mucha’s work combines Byzantine and contemporary traditions. Mucha’s hallmark is an idealized figure of a beautiful woman surrounded by a handful of flowers and leaves, symbols and arabesques.
Initiated in 1898. In 1923, Mucha became Grand Master of the new Grand Lodge of Czechoslovakia, and in 1930 was made Sovereign Grand Commander of the Supreme Council of Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Czechoslovakia.
