John Philip Sousa (1854-1932) in 1900

 
American composer and conductor of the late Romantic era. He is known primarily for his American military and patriotic marches. His best-known composition is “The Stars and Stripes Forever” (National March of the United States of America).

 
Initiated into “Hiram Lodge No. 10” on July 15, 1881.  Knighted on March 10, 1886  in Columbia Commandery No. 2, Knights Templar, and became a Shriner on April 21, 1922 in Almas Temple, A.A.O.N.M.S. Named honorary leader of the Almas Temple Band.
