This is a general survey on the historical and modern presence of Grand Bénin de la République du Bénin (Grand Benin of the Republic of Benin) in Central-Western Africa.
1907.04.15 Grand Orient of France created its first lodge in Dahomey (former name of Benin) in Cotonou. It was a provisoire lodge working in French Rite – Union et Concorde du Dahomey à l’Orient de Cotonou.
GBRB was created in 1967.
