England - Freemasons set to open town centre drinking spot to the public

Belper’s Freemasons are set to open their town centre drinking spot to the public.
The organisation has filed a licensing application to Amber Valley Borough Council in which it seeks to open its doors to the public full-time instead of just for community events.

Belper Masonic Hall Ltd has applied to run its property at 1 Campbell Street in Belper, renamed as Tylers, from 10am until midnight Sunday through Thursday and from 10am until 1am on Fridays and Saturdays.

The re-branded venue bears the logo of the Freemasons, the square and compasses – traditional tools of stone masons.
It would be available for showing films, as rehearsal space for plays and community groups, small indoor sporting events, live music, discos, dance performances, quizzes, poetry and comedy.
