Having family in and near Watertown, I read The Public Opinion article “Coffee with the mayor set for Friday at Masonic Lodge” (June 7). I am pleased for many reasons. First of all, I believe it is very beneficial for our civic leaders to meet and greet the public and listen to real-world concerns of constituents. Secondly, freemasons have always believed in freedom and liberty. I happen to be a fifth-generation freemason with some of my relatives in the Watertown area.
