The largest masonic lodge in Lake Charles, which has been inoperable since Hurricane Laura, has reopened.
After almost 5 years, the historic Lake Charles Chapter #165 returned to the Masonic Grand Lodge and rededicated the building today.
Lake Charles Masonic Lodge #165 member Garret Baker said, “It’s a symbol of our town coming back to life. It’s been a long tedious, tumultuous path back to restoration.”
“It’s a historical thing that goes back 300 years, into the reception of a facility where our brothermen can meet, on a brotherly basis,” said Louisiana Grand Master Larry Plaisance.
