Friends, family and fellow Masonic brothers recognized the life and accomplishments of Kenneth Duffie at a Jan. 4 ceremony, celebrating his 75 years of membership with the Star in the East Lodge of Ancient Free & Accepted Masons.
Duffie, a U.S. Navy veteran, long-time Zeiterion Theatre organist and New Bedford resident, received a pin from Adam Pimentel, the lodge’s presiding Master, that commemorated his 75-year membership.
“It was very much of a surprise to me,” said Duffie, 96, adding he was lucky enough to sign the lodge’s bylaws on his 22nd birthday. “For just some unknown reason I’m still here.”
