Michigan/U.S. - Ithaca Freemasons lodge presents donation to Gratiot Emergency Services Authority

Masonic Worshipful Master Bill Syckle presented a donation to Gratiot Emergency Services Authority Chief Dave Nelson on behalf of Ithaca Lodge 123 Free and Accepted Masons. The Freemasons are a Worldwide fraternity with members and lodges in every corner of the globe.

The proceeds will fund over 100 children, K-4, for the fire education and prevention program performed at Ithaca and Fulton schools. The children learn how to prevent fires, how to make an escape plan, as well as receive gifts from the department. The children also get to meet some of the fire staff as well as enjoy seeing a fire truck in person.

These prevention education programs not only work to save lives, but they also work in lowering home insurance rates for the communities where they are successful.
