Masonic cornerstone laying ceremony took place at the new Beatrice Elementary School on Saturday afternoon.
The Grand Lodge of Masons of Nebraska and Masonic Lodge 26 of Beatrice joined with Beatrice Public Schools and Huesman Construction for the ceremony. The VFW Honor Guard posted the flags.
The ceremony was in the commons area of the new building.
Superintendent Jason Alexander said this was an important day for the school system.
