Artist and tutor Wayne Patrick has a passion for making art accessible to young people, and has been helped along with a $2000 donation from The Freemasons Charity Southern Division.
In the past, Patrick has held exhibitions and sold his own art to raise funds to subsidise, or pay for, materials so students can participate in his classes. Patrick also sponsors some students to attend.
With about 50 to 60 learners a week, aged between six and 15, the donation should keep them in canvas and paint for about six months, Patrick said.
