With all of the attention usually given to students during back-to-school events, local Masonic Lodges unite to support teachers returning to the classroom.
Four Prince Hall Masonic Lodges, Moncks Corner No. 323, St Johns No. 349 Laurel Hill No. 193 and Jefferson Grant No. 349 combine efforts from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, at St. Stephen Elementary School, 1053 Russellville Road in St. Stephen to provide support for all St. Stephen Elementary teachers and staff. While this event had been planned well before the controversial merging of historic J.K. Gourdine Elementary with St. Stephen Elementary, the timing could not be better.
