The Roman-Hatheway Masonic Lodge #223 has awarded its New York State Masonic Grand Lodge Certificate of Appreciation for Excellence in Service to the Community to Rome Police Chief Kevin C. Beach, and an additional award to the entire department for its service to the city during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The honor, the announcement said, is awarded to those individuals or organizations which make a significant contribution to the community above and beyond what normally might be expected of them.
