George Washington Masonic National Memorial, perhaps the most recognized landmark of Old Town Alexandria, reopened in late July after four months of closure due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Memorial is implementing safety guidelines and is part of ALX Promise, a certification program of the Alexandria Health Department that goes beyond the minimum safety standards for guests and staff. All guests are required to wear a face covering over the nose and mouth inside the building, undergo temperature screening and practice social distancing.
