A football-loving teenager’s dream of getting a specialist all-terrain wheelchair has moved a step closer thanks to a £2,000 donation from the Powis Lodge of Freemasons in Welshpool.
Previously we have reported how Aled Owen, 14, of Llansantffraid, is raising funds for the electric wheelchair so he can start enjoying more quality time with his family and friends by doing what he loves – attending local football matches and playing on the beach.
The Welshpool High School pupil is hoping to raise £17,500 for a custom built Extreme X8 4×4 Electric Wheelchair, and he and his family were thrilled to receive the donation from the Powis Freemasons.
Mum Julie said: “We are extremely grateful for such a generous donation. We originally set our fundraising target much lower, but with the support of the Freemasons we are now able to dream of getting Aled the wheelchair he deserves.
